Listen to author and DN journalist Martin Gelin on art and politics

During the lecture, Martin Gelin talks about his experiences from two decades in the United States, why he chose to leave the country, but also about the art and culture that better than anything else give us an understanding of the country. Contemporary art helps us understand American people and the American culture that, for better or for worse, has shaped so much of the outside world over the past century, Gelin writes about the exhibition “Abuse of Power Comes as No Surprise.”

Martin Gelin is an award winning writer and journalist with extensive experience in world politics. For two decades, Gelin was a resident of New York and worked as a correspondent for Dagens Nyheter. He also writes for several international media including The Guardian, The Washington Post and Bloomberg and is frequently heard on radio and television.

Martin Gelin is the author of several reportage books including The White Storm — The History of Racism and the Fall of the United States (2022) and Tomorrow I'm Far From Here. A Farewell Letter to the United States (2024)

Lunch will be served from 11.20am, the lecture will start at 12.00pm
