^{Welcome to listen to this year's Bruno Mathsson Design Residency fellow Maria Bruun.}

Award winning Danish designer Maria Bruun is in Värnamo to participate in the Bruno Mathsson Design Residency 15 May—15 June 2025. During the residency Bruun lives and works in a house in Värnamo from 1955, designed by architect and furniture designer Bruno Mathsson (1907—88) for Vandalorum founder Sven Lundh. During her stay, Bruun will have the opportunity to visit the extensive furniture and manufacturing industry in the Jönköping region.

Danish furniture designer Maria Bruun (b. 1984, active in Copenhagen) received her master's degree from Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademie in 2012. In recent years, she has received Denmark's two top design awards: the Wegner Prize (2022) and the Finn Juhl Prize (2021). She has attracted international attention for her innovative and sculptural designs with a strong knowledge of the natural properties of wood, expressed in the renowned Pioneer podium and the Islets table for Fredericia.

Bruno Mathsson Design Residency is run by Region Jönköping County and the art and design museum Vandalorum, with the support of IASPIS/Kunstsnämnden's international program in the field of image and form, Region Jönköping County and Värnamo Municipality, in collaboration with entrepreneur and furniture collector Johan Sjöberg, Bruno Mathsson International and the Karin and Bruno Mathsson Foundation.
