Vandalorum has this spring laid out a new garden designed by the renowned Dutch garden designer Piet Oudolf. He has taken on the entire museum courtyard, approximately 2,500 m², which has been transformed into a bowl-shaped plant environment designed for visitors to experience and enjoy. The space features an 850 m² perennial meadow, artworks, rest areas, walkways, spaces for educational activities, and a large outdoor seating area for the museum’s restaurant guests.
“I am glad that the courtyard garden at Vandalorum is now becoming a reality! The idea of the courtyard is that the garden should not just be a terrace and an extension of the restaurant, but a place where one can really be in the garden and enjoy the plants and the surrounding art. A place where you can linger for a while after a good lunch.”
