We begin the workshop with a brief introduction where ceramicist Ester Svensson introduces herself. She shares why she loves ceramics and explains the workshop structure. After that, each participant will have the opportunity to introduce themselves.

Each participant will receive soft, easy-to-shape clay. Focusing on small-scale sculpture, participants are free to create whatever they like, perhaps inspired by a memory or something they enjoy.

If a participant finds it difficult to shape the clay, they can create according to their own abilities. In these cases, Ester will assist in creating a collaborative piece, such as a sculpture or a pot.

Ester Svensson (b. 1981) lives and works in Skillingaryd, Småland.

This workshop is part of Vandalorum's project Rich in Years, funded by the Kamprad Family Foundation, which aims to improve the quality of life and enrich the daily lives of elderly people in need throughout Småland by making art and design accessible. The activity takes place at residential care homes and day centers for the elderly and can be booked free of charge.

Vandalorum, a museum for art and design in Värnamo, has extensive experience working with customized educational projects for the elderly.
