The photo shows Barn 3 and Anna Bjerger's exhibition.
At first glance, Anna Bjerger's paintings seams both carefree and enigmatic. The brushstrokes are sweeping and somewhat stripped-down, the compositions are often simple, as is the approach itself. Bjerger use photographic images as a starting point, images that often originate from interior design magazines and travel brochures. Bjerger speaks of it as a way of rescuing images from history.

She elevates the images by removing them from their context and transforming them through the act of painting.  They are now in a newsetting. As a viewer, it is difficult to determine what you are actually seeing. It is straight forward in one way, a beach, a walk in the forest or a ship in a bottle. But we do not get everything explained, we do not see the whole picture. At the same time, a feeling of recognition arises from the narrative of the paintings. A vague memory of a landscape, a quick thought or the stranger in the corner of your eye who just passed by on the street.

I Would Like to Be Where You Are
is a comprehensive presentation of Anna Bjerger's artistry. It is a collection of carefully selected works by the artist herself. The exhibition is a collaboration with Galleri Magnus Karlsson and Galleri Bo Bjerggaard, together with private collectors who have generously contributed their artworks. The exhibition also features a newly produced installation of benches in different colors and formats that become an extension of the painting into the room. The benches are made from waste materials by craftsman Richard Dudek and then painted by Bjerger.

Anna Bjerger (b.1973) lives and works outside Älmhult in Småland. She was educated at St. Martin's School of Art and Design and the Royal Collegeof Art in London. She has exhibited frequently in Sweden and internationally at Gl. Holtegaard Konsthal, 0—0 LA, Kristianstad Konsthall, Fullersta Gård and Växjö Konsthall. Bjerger is represented in the collections of Moderna Museet, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, SMK Statens Museum for Kunst and Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, among others, as well as in a large number of private and public collections worldwide.
