The picture shows a photo taken by the artist.
After several years of study in photography, Vanni Jung Ståhle returned to her place of birth to portray the lives of her childhood friends and acquaintances in the village of Blomstermåla and nearby smaller villages in the province Småland in southern Sweden. The result was the exhibition /The Kings from Blomstermåla/, which received great attention in 2025.

The documentation of Blomstermåla is an ongoing project for Jung Ståhle and the exhibition at Småland Art Archive in Vandalorum displays works from previous presentations combined with completely newly produced works that have not been shown before.

Jung Ståhle works without a set narrative and follows the possibilities of photographic tools in her artistic process. By combining scenic views and interiors in medium format with snapshots from dark dance floors and fast-paced car rides, we get to meet the place and the people who live there through various photographic entrances. Jung Ståhle describes her relationship with photography as relationship-building, a way of being in the world and taking part in it.

Vanni Jung Ståhle (b. 1994 Ålem) is based in Malmö where she is currently studying a master's degree in art at Malmö Art Academy. She has previously studied photography at Nordens Fotoskola (2017-2020) and Gamleby Folkhögskola (2015-2016). Her work has previously been exhibited at Fotografiska in Stockholm, the Hasselblad Foundation in Gothenburg, Dunkers Kulturhus in Helsingborg and Kalmar's new culture house.
